Consequently, the operation is kept on a human scale, where
each facet of production : size, weight, colour, choice of material, finishing,
etc... can be tailor-made to the exact requirement of my individual, or
corporate, clients. Every sheet of paper created by hand in my workshop is given
the same meticulous attention right from the preparation of the pulp through
to the forming and drying processes. I
ensure that the drying process is not hurried and that each sheet of paper
remains flat. Pulps are made from abaca, flax, hemp, cotton, etc... Each
of these natural materials has been selected for its specific chemical, mechanical
and physical properties, which determine the perfect use for each of my papers. My guiding principle has always
been to match the aged-old craft of paper-making to the demands of the modern
world.
